LA's Goodbye Party

Well we had a going away party at Yubo's last night for LA, but I would like to think of it as more of a see ya later party since I am sure we will hang out again... Maybe some tandem ^^

Bunch of friends came out last night to hang out, eat, and have some drinks despite being Sunday.

日曜日なんだけど昨日皆一緒に遊んだ^^美味しい物食べてお酒も飲んで11時ぐらい家に帰った。

Also got to try some raw whale meat pictured below. Really good stuff it actually has the taste of steak but with the texture of raw. I probably won't order it for the sake of the whales, but since it was brought out of course I had to try it :) I don't know whether I like horse or whale better lol..

180sx Markers/ New Wheel

Got some OEM 180 markers the other day so I can finally get rid of my ziptied ones on my intercooler lol.. Trying to unghettofy some things on my car. As everyone knows other than things that cant be helped like aero I am trying to really make the car nice inside and out. So these markers along with a new deep corn suede steering wheel I picked up at Auto Salon will be installed after arriving in a few months.

Markers came in and with my great luck one got a piece cracked along the edge T_T ... It's not that big of a deal really but still it sucks, trying to see what I can do about it now.

Happy New Years everyone! I spent all day pretty much working on my car again, while it was 30 degrees out T_T

Added a bigger spacer in the front so now I am running 17x9 -11. Rear is lacking fitment bc of the balloon tires I had to buy.

New SAFC stand is in so no more zipties to hold it up and I added some diamond studding around my wheel/quick release :D Gota put my valentine back in, and hopefully getting GPS for my bday ><

Well as most of you know I sold the blue Silvia about a week ago. Starting to look into parts and stuff for my red car again. Today I went and treated myself :D I have been saying I want to really make my interior nice lately. It is pretty nice already I think, but there are some changes I would like to make. Drifting in Japan has changed my entire perspective on a drift cars interior. People here super nice and luxury like interior even in Silvia's if you can even perceive that lol. Anyways seeing people roll really plushly and still killing it on the streets has opened my eyes to the side of the spectrum.

Anyways heres what it looks like now.

Plans for now are new door panels, redoing all the fabric inside to something classy. Maybe LV or something like that. Getting a new stand for my safc and getting rid of that stupid nismo sticker lol. Dash crack really sucks but I've already swapped a dash before I don't feel like doing it again or buying another one. I might looking wrapping it in suede when I get time.

Bought a new heavy weighted tall leather shift knob as well as some Dmax style front mats. Not sure how I will like em so I bought the cheaper ones. If I really like em I’ll prolly go ahead and buy a full set. Black/Grey vs. Red/Black was a tough decision since my car is red but all my interior is black. I think I’ll keep the inside neutral for the calm cleanness. Make the outside extra gaudy to get looks while sliding haha ^^ What's your opinion?

I will be in America this weekend for Xmas break!

Had a pretty tasty Americanish dinner last weekend.

I had a really busy work day and had to teach in front of all the parents on Monday so I treated myself to this ramen. I found out my local area is famous in my city for ramen so I got the low down on the best shops from one of my co-workers. I plan on hitting them up frequently. This is by far the best tonkotsu ramen I have ever had. Really rich thick flavor and loads of pork slices.

I will be selling the wheels as well but I am going to try and sell them locally first so that I dont have to dismount the almost new tires and ship them. If I do decide to ship I will contact those of you who have already asked about them.

So after ordering s13 tie rod ends I found out my car has s14 tie rods so in order to get the car repaired on time I had to make a trip to Kawasaki tonight. Big thanks to Yubo for sourcing me a tie rod and to his friend for meeting me at the station!

That is about it in a nutshell. Just working and hanging out enjoying being healthy. Only about 3 more weeks until I visit America for Xmas!

Lota of food this weekend! I ha a work party Friday and ate/drank lots there. Saturday I went to an izakaya to east dinner and drink. I had kimchi nabe along with some other small things for dinner there. Also was served up some Korean dessert style pancakes with cinnamon filling and some syrup on top. They were awesome but I felt kinda sick bc I never really eat sugary food that much anymore, especially not a lot and I ate a bunch of them lol. Lastly I made spaghetti for dinner sunday night :). I feel fat now :( lol... Also taught my little guy "George" how to deliver a proper beating on Halo :D

Weekend Food

Sorry I haven't been blogging much, I still take lots of pics and stuff just I have been lazy. Blogspot is gay because it has a crappy mobile interface thus making blogging a PIA :/ I wish they would upgrade like tumblr or something. Anyways I have been trying to cook more lately not only to save money and eat healthy, but also for the sake of being able to eat authentic tasting Japanese food upon returning to America next year.. Anyways lets take a look at what we got here :)

焼きそば(Yakisoba) - A very popular food at festivals and parties and basically consists of pan fried noodles with veggies and a special seasoning to get its distinct flavor.

野菜炒め(Yasai Itame) - Stir fried veggies with pork or whatever meat of choice. I have been cooking with predominately pork lately because it is very cheap. I duno what pork costs in America but I can get thinly sliced strips here from the meat market from souther Japan (right now you have to be cautious where you get you veggies/meat from because of the radiation) for about 88¥ / 100g which is like a 1$. I made this plate of food for a total of $1.50 not including the sauces and spices I already had at home.

Went and ate with some friends yesterday. What you see below is called 揚げそば(Age Soba or Kata Yakisoba) - It is made of the same soba noodles in the first picture but instead they are deep-fried to a crisp and covered with this saucy topping and loaded with veggies. It is very good :)

Today after playing Halo for a couple hours with my brother I left the apartment to go get dinner. It was sprinkling outside, anyways this is what it looks like immediately leaving my apartment.

Tried a new ramen shop today that has daily specials listed below. Today is Sunday (日) so that means the special is とんこつ塩ラーメン (Tonkotsu Shio Ramen). 500¥ from 11am-8pm so I went with that tonight. It was cheap so I can't complain but honestly I won't go back. I really liked the place it was chill inside but the ramen was subpar, of course it was still decent but compared to some of my other favorite shops it just didn't compare. Glad I tried it though as I have been meaning to stop by there before.

Got my share of the stickers in as well. I have mailed 2 out so far so I look forward to seeing the cars/people I have chosen rep for the PP family!

-Passenger headlight bracket cracked (Sits sturdy with a screw threw the bracket).

-One of the holes for the bracket for the rear sway bar doesn't line up correctly so one bracket isn't connected completely.

-Under heavy rains a little bit of water accumulates on the floor. The carpet has been cut out where the mat sits so its easy to dry up but it still appears as though all the front carpet is in.

-No Shaken, I have been getting temp plates to take it out every now and then as a weekend car.

-Trunk lid spoiler and antenna holes covered with tape from underneath and painted over.

The car runs great and there are no engine problems or anything. It runs super cool (about 65c) and has never overheated on me. It's a great car and I really don't want to sell it, but I have no other choice as I will be moving back to America next year. Feel free to make offers but I feel that my price is very reasonable considering everything it has and it's condition. Thank You

Went drifting Saturday but cops were posted at every spot.. sucks lately.. luckily since we know they are posted around the corner we just slide where they aren't until they figure it out and come break it up haha

Well Friday was the start of fall officially in Japan and it was a beautiful cool day so I wanted to do something outside. I've wanted to go to this place for a long time but never got around to it. Anyways I will let the pictures do the talking but is was an amazing atmosphere. With the temple close by the smell of burning incense lingered throughout the forest making for a perfect setting :)

Well as most of you know I broke my turbo outlet pic a few weeks ago out at Oi Futo in Tokyo so I finally got around to replacing it last night. Got everything back together unfortunately the design of the outlet I bought is pretty crappy thus making it impossible to get one of the lower nuts on. Prolly going to be a little leaky especially since I am re-using the old gasket lol but oh well it will be ok. Hoping the drive there wont be too bas because I know there is a set of pretty brutal RR tracks you have to cross :/ Anyways I got the car all washed and cleaned inside as well. Looks decent again.

Hella random stuff but I haven't been updating much lately so here is some stuff. I am still around and all just a little busy since work started back up.

Had cold soba the other night after going to the dentist to get the cap of my implanted tooth re-cemented on :/

I always try to get as close to the wall or whatever is around when drifting, pushing it to the limits is what it's all about. This came from a curb a few weekends ago so that shows basically my whole back bumper was over it :D

Went to Yubo's last night to pay for my entry to Mobara @ Chiba this weekend! Ended up hanging out for over 3 hours just chatting. Crazy I remember meeting him about 2 years ago and not speaking one sentence of Japanese. I used to dream of the day I could just talk to anyone. Although my Japanese isn't great is good enough yay :D

After Kawasaki last night I followed about 30 other drift cars out to the infamous Oi Futo for some sunrise drifting. Unfortunately on my first run this happened.. you gota pay to slide a low car I guess..

FORTUNATELY it was only the outlet pipe and not the manifold or something. Anyways I talked to quite a few Japanese last night and they all were complimenting my car saying how cool it was and how my fitment is awesome. They also said they never would have thought I was a foreigner when they saw me driving and drifting so that made me feel pretty good. To get compliments like that from the locals was definitely a good feeling. Not that Japanese dislike gaijin drifters but most don't speak Japanese so to actually be able to socialize and be respected like everyone else is nice. LA also got noticed as being the dude that had that 2-tone Mark II so that was cool, although I know he got emo about not having the car anymore haha..

Got home around 6am Sunday after a pretty crazy night/morning. Drifted Kawasaki, had some pretty close encounters there and then hung out for a while before heading out to Tokyo to hit Oi. Drifted the one run before having to fix my car and the cops showed up literally right as I got my car off the jack. Me and LA from Streetsliders threw my crap in the car and punched it out of there.. Thank god the SR can run without an o2 sensor. As I was cruising home with the sun rising over the bay area I thought to myself these really are the best times of my life. I love Japan so much I am scared to go back to America honestly..

This red Mark II and I were pretty much the only 2 people linking the U-turn into the next turn throughout the day. It was cool bc we both drove the same line and laid into the rev limiter while gettin right on the edge into the water in order to make it. This turn was where all my fun was of the day haha.

I had a small off course incident haha.. lost my bumper in the mud but got it all back together :)
