So the last part of the trip was to Slovakia. The main reason being was to go back to my brother's apartment and relax for a few days, as well as help him prepare for his move. His job is done there now and he will be moving in with me in Japan in hopes of finding a job here and staying long term. We shall see how that pans out. He lived in Zlate Moravce. We took a three day trip to a beautiful place in the High Tatras. The lodge was situated right in the mountains on a lake. The 50-60 degree weather was an amazing change from the rest of the trip. This was by far the most beautiful place I have ever hiked in my whole life, and quite possibly the best part of my trip. Slovakia was much cheaper than the rest of Europe, and very enjoyable. A large beer will cost you a mere 1.50 Euros at a restaurant. A large pizza will be somewhere around 4-5 Euros, so this was a great change from Italy, where it was much more than that. Onto the pics:
Sauerkraut soup
The water here was pristine and drinkable.
This was the highest lake in Slovakia with fish. Somewhere around 180ft deep and crystal clear.
Sausage after the hike.
Nice pudding with wild berries.
The fog the morning we left was beautiful. It made for a great setting.
about 15 Euros for all 3 pizzas!
Cheese and pepper stuffed fried chicken.
A venison type stew.
A nice restored castle.
Some castle ruins.
Great burgers at this place for about 5 Euros a piece with fries.
The landlord's apartment my brother lived at had a lot of veggies and fruits growing.
Frankfurt airport heading to Korea and then home to Japan.
Airport in Seoul.
Finished. Back to work soon :(
