Mardi Gras 2020

Laissez les bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!). It's a popular Mardi Gras expression, and that's exactly how we all felt. Although not born in, I mostly grew up in Louisiana. Going to mardi gras was something we did every year as a family, and then with friends as I got older and was able to drive myself around. I am currently in the US and had the opportunity to go back to Shreveport/Bossier area for the "Crew of Centaur" parade. My family and I made the drive over from Texas and stayed one evening. We stayed close the to Boardwalk shopping area, which is seated along the Red River. I used to come here often as teenager to shop, hangout with friends and eat dinner. It was a trip down memory lane, but not near as entertaining as I remember it being. I suppose growing up, moving, and seeing larger cities definitely changed my perspective on things.

GX-01

Well I have been looking for extra wheels for sliding lately but hadn't jumped on much. I have been being picky wanting to get quality/cool wheels but at a cheap price lol. I have always had a little thing for Grenades so when I found a pair of 18x9 +20 (Best sizing) locally I had to pick them up. Unfortunately these things have been spray painted every color in the rainbow. I am having a blast trying to get them cleaned up, but for the price and condition I can't complain. I feel the end result will be worth it, kinda how my Zelda's were too. This beautiful orangish red -_- Yuck.. Little better Raisin status Ughh.. Cant wait to at least have them down to bare metal.. Wish aircraft stripper worked a little better :/ Also found a really authentic Korean joint by my house that you will prolly see up here more often haha. I had Kimchi Jjigae.

Hiking Nokogiri w/ Matt

Today my buddy Matt got up super early to come down from Tokyo and hike with me. He met me and my station and then we rode my scooters from my place down to Kurihama. We took the ferry from Kurihama to Chiba. It's a bargain by the way. Only about $13 round trip for a 45 minute ride accross Tokyo bay. Nokogiri is a pretty neat hike because it's an old mining facility in the mountains. You can enjoy nature, man-made structures, and a temple at the top all in one day. We didn't hit the temple today, but I have been a couple times before in my previous posts if you would like to search. The highlight of nature in Japan for me is moss covered stones. Don't be judgemental..

Cherry Blossoms (Imperial Palace & Naka-Meguro)

Well of course by now the Sakura are long gone, but I have been digging through my phone for some decent content to upload. I was fortunate enough to have my parents visit me this spring. That of course led to lots of Cherry Blossom filled adventures. I went to some new places this year to check them out, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. I just wanted to share some of these pictures. If you are considering a trip to Japan I highly recommend either the beginning of April to catch the blossoms, or October/November to see the colors change in the mountains. Although I love the summer for the beach, I wouldn't recommend it for sightseeing. Of course I can only speak for the Kanto region. I am breaking this post into two sections. The first pictures are from around the Imperial Palace area in the heart of Tokyo. The second set below them are mostly taken in Naka-Meguro area.

Hong Kong Pt. 3

As I mentioned before there wasn't a whole lot that I wanted to do while I was there, but the main thing was to see this area. It had a large Buddha and a really nice temple nearby. More about it below.
